Slice of life Post

My two dogs ,Bebe and Tilly, are my parents favorite dogs. They have loved them for many years. But the funny thing is that we have had Tilly for 11 years now, and Bebe arrived about half a year ago. Tilly was always a quiet dog for most of her life. Bebe is a yorkie puppy with lots of energy. Bebe has changed Tilly. Tilly is now loud and barks whenever she hears any sound because Bebe does the same thing. Bebe has caused our quiet old Tilly to be loud and insane and has turned her into a spaz! I advise you to never get a puppy that is loud when you have an old quiet dog. That quiet dog will become a loud barking dog! That is a little slice of my life! Have a good Crafty Learning Day!

It’s time to move on and keep going; but first Christmas! Got any creative ideas for Christmas?Anything fun you are doing, In the classroom or at home? Let me know below! 😀

mobile creativity?

Mobile learning is something that needs to be embraced in this day and age. Every child has access to a phone more than they have access to a computer. Teachers need to know that mobile learning isn’t bad. Its helpful for those that can’t afford a computer to be allowed to use their phone. Phones can be very useful so lets embrace them and be creative with them.

With every type of learning there are pros and cons. Mobile learning has some pros and coms that teacher should know about. The article “Mobile Devices for learning, what you need to know” explains what every teacher needs to know before embarking in the world of mobile learning.  The cons of mobile learning include phones being a distraction. But they funny thing is that most things are a distraction. The pros for using a phone is that they have so many resources available on them to use. They are also compact and don’t take up as much space as computers.

The best way to use mobile learning in elementary schools is to see that most of your students have cell phones by know and to use them to your advantage. If you need to remind students of homework there are sites that will send texts to each of your students reminding them. There are apps that can help students see how they are doing in school, even parents can see it too. Technology is a resource so use it.

Podcasting is something that could be used to let parents know what is going on in the classroom without having to come into the class everyday. Its a great resource for teachers to use to let their students feel included in the lessons.

Multimedia Craftyness

I have to tell you that Multimedia is one of those things that all teachers should start using. It is a way for you students to learn things by doing it themselves. For example, they can use video cameras to shoot a breaking alert story on the frogs growing in their classroom. By giving them these tools they can be creative in a way that they love. Kids love to take pictures and videotape themselves. Why not have them learn in a way that they love or in a way that benefits their creative side.

Parents are a huge part in a child’s life. Why not give them a way to see exactly what their children do in school? Set up a podcast for your classroom. Have the children take turns recording what they will be doing that day. Let their parents hear them get excited about what they are doing. Even though they might be at work or at home. Podcasts are a great way to keep your student’s parents on track with what is going on. It is also another way to keep your children on track. You can post assignments on the podcast website through a visual podcast(can’t remember the name haha). Podcasts are a great way to keep in tough with everyone.

Another great type of multimedia is Web 2.0 programs like youtube. This is a great place to post videos of the children, as long as you ask permission first if the children are below high school. Children have the creativity to do anything they want when they have multimedia at their fingertips. Teachers need to realize that multimedia isn’t just for the children of this generation, its for the adults of the past generations too. So pick up your cameras and your microphones and your video recorders and start to  have some creative moments with the children. They will love you for it.

Great place to post stories
